It’s when we start working together that the real healing takes place
— David Hume

Through family therapy we hope to help you and your family better understand each other and support one another through difficult situations. Family challenges that may be addressed in therapy include navigating boundaries, traumatic experiences, working on communication, feeling heard by one another and navigating these relationships.

This is a supportive space where your family can speak openly and honestly about the intricacies of your relationships. Your therapist will help facilitate conversations and work towards your collective goals.

When to Attend Family Therapy?

There are a variety of reasons a family may decide to attend therapy together. Here are a few common reasons someone may seek therapy:

  • Improving communication: learn how to communicate more effectively with each other, explore how to best share feedback and develop conflict resolution skills.

  • Navigating transitions: explore life changes such as divorce, moving, arrival of a new family member.

  • Understanding dynamics: therapy can help you understand each other’s perspectives, this can help develop empathy and reduce conflict.

  • Building family resilience: therapy can help your family develop coping skills through challenges and adapt to changes together.

  • Exploring specific problems: therapy can give your family a chance to explore any specific challenges, support collective healing and how to move forward.

Who Can Attend Family Therapy?

Currently we are able to support families of varying sizes. However, we ask that all participants are 7 years and older. If you feel therapy may be right for your family, but don’t meet the age range - please reach out to us so we can discuss how we can best support you and your family.
